Mojitos....

...are MY summer drink. That is all!!!

Make a Statement This Summer

This summer is all about statement (also known as trophy) jackets. From sequins and bows, to embellishments and bold prints, these jackets instantly add the 'wow' factor to any outfit. Team them with plain body con dresses and skirt/vest combos for a glamorous look and opt for lightweight, short sleeved versions to keep you cool throughout the summer.

Balmain Statement Military Jacket

Many designers made these jackets the centrepieces of the Spring/Summer collections, such as Balmain (above), Stella McCartney and Luella.

This military denim jacket from Your Eyes Lie is gorgeous and perfectly affordable at £90.. find it here

For those of you with deeper pockets, this floral armour jacket from Matthew Williamson is truly stunning, £1,495. Find it here http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/77605

Matthew Williamson Floral Armour Jacket

Personally I opted for this bow crop jacket from Topshop, as it's also nude so it hits two key trends in one.

And here it is on it's first night out..

Fearlessness and balance are the keys to statement jackets: don't be afraid to wear something a little more bright or detailed than usual BUT make sure you balance this out by keeping the rest of your outfit as plain as you can - block colours if possible. I plan to wear my new jacket with a black vest, black hareem pants, my trusted Mulberry Bayswater (also in black) and tan gladiator sandals.

Happy shopping!

Lots of love, Miss Colley x

Today's Jam

She's Baaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!

I know, you thought you'd got rid of me. That I'd got bored of writing about my life when in fact I've just had waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much going on to blog about it...ironic isn't it?

I've had a month of ups and downs...the kind of month where you find out who your friends are, or more importantly, who your friends aren't. I saw a lot of different sides to people in a difficult situation designed to hurt me and a friend of mine who I have previously obsessed over on this very blog proved herself to be far from the person I thought she was. If I'm honest this totally knocked my confidence and challenged my trust in everyone around me. Luckily for me, the rest of my friends were as perfect as anyone could wish friends to be and I've emerged from the whole incident only slightly mentally scarred! On a serious note, a thought that kept me going through the whole drama was something once told to me by one of my besties Miss Rose Thomas. 'Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, its not the end'. It might be just a little saying but for some reason it really stuck with me and I found myself relying it quite a lot.

And guess what? She was right. Everything worked out okay and life is back on track and if I dare say it.. better than ever. Haters will always be haters, just let them do their thing and do yours with your head held high and they'll just end up wasting their time. Plus, Colley loves attention anyway, they would have hurt me more by NOT talking about me!! So for now I'm doing like Breezy, chuckin my dueces up and saying..

'Nice try.. but it'll take a little more than that!'

To Becky, Rose, Claire, Emilee, Suzi, Brandon, Mo, Clem and my TWIN... I love you all x
